Doesn't seem like a month since I have posted, but the blog doesn't lie!
Phoebe has been immersed in camp as usual. They did weeks on different countries, books and authors, the Olympics, American artists, and this week is architecture. They are all designing their own playgrounds--Phoebe is Harry Potter-themed, of course.
She filled up her Barnes and Noble summer reading sheet and took it in last week for her free book. The staff promptly gave her another one and challenged her to fill it up as well. We've got three entries and five to go before Labor Day!
Phoebe finished The Black Stallion, and we got most of the way through the movie. Watching the Olympics has kind of gotten in the way of finishing it. She has also read Take Two (the sequel to Trading Faces), Behind the Bit (from the Canterwood Crest series), Bunnicula Strikes Again!, The Name of this Book is Secret, and Hoot. Currently, she is reading The Summer of Moonlight Secrets. Her choices have been all over the genre map!
We watched the film version of Aquamarine, and Phoebe's reaction was that it was a good movie--she was glued to it--but a terrible adaptation. Very little in common with the book.
We are almost finished with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I figure we have about a week to go before we can watch the movie. Phoebe has been pretty zonked when she gets home from camp, so we are lucky to get through a full chapter a night.
In other news, Phoebe has finally mastered riding her bike solo--with no training wheels!
