I was thinking the other day about all the places Phoebe has been in her eight-plus years on the planet, and it is a pretty impressive list. So I thought--for her future reading more than anything else--I would log them here. Before I forget it all!
Of course she saw Mount Rushmore before she could remember, but there is a picture for proof!
Sporting/Cultural Events: Cirque de Soleil, The Harlem Globetrotters, Titanic artifact exhibit, King Tut's Tomb exhibit, minor league baseball game (Troy ValleyCats), New York City Ballet, Riverdance, Tanglewood to see the Boston Pops--and got to see John Williams conducting, met Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson) and Erin Hunter (Warriors). This summer we'll be seeing The Beach Boys. She got the Medieval Times experience in New Jersey, which was beyond kitschy, but everyone should do!
In addition to the states listed below, she has also been to Vermont several times.
Montreal: Biodome, Insectarium, rode the subway
Boston: MFA, Science Museum, Aquarium, Bunker Hill, top of the Prudential Building, the PBS station to see where they film Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman, rode the subway
Mystic Aquarium: Interacted with a penguin. Watched me get in with a Beluga whale
New York City: Metropolitan Museum of Art, Natural History Museum, Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, walked by where they film Today and Good Morning America, FAO Schwartz to dance on the Big piano, and all over Manhattan
Philadelphia: Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Edgar Allen Poe's House, Zoo
And at the beginning of June, we'll be in Washington DC for a couple of days--just enough time for a quick trip through some of the major sites! We had hoped to tour the White House, but the new security rules are crazy, and it would be too big a chunk of time for such a short trip, so that will have to wait. I am hoping to get tickets to go to the top of the Washington Monument!
Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything!
