We finished Howliday Inn--quite a few days ago, but I've been busy grading papers. Phoebe's favorite part came at the end. Chester and Howard's family adopt Howie--a wire-haired dachshund/werewolf cross who was the runt of the litter of puppies delivered at Chateau Bow-Wow while Chester and Howard were bunking there.
Chester, who was hoping to never have to deal with werewolf howls again, attempts to teach Howie how to meditate. However, Howie turns every OMmmmmm into an OMmmm-ooooo. Like much of the book, Phoebe found that hysterical.
Now we are reading How to Train Your Dragon, which was adapted into a movie last year. But from what I can tell so far, the plot of the book is quite different. We're not too far in--last night Phoebe wanted to read a book about the anatomy and functions of The Brain--but there will be more to come!
On her own, Phoebe finished It's Halloween, You 'Fraidy Mouse!, featuring Geronimo Stilton and Co. Halloween is never out of season!
