Advanced Math!!!

First of all, I added a couple of pictures to my last post, so you can check out how snazzy Phoebe looks in her uniform. If you are on Facebook, you probably saw them already.

Last week, Phoebe took an assessment test to decide which math class she would be in, and she got good enough grades to be in 8th Grade Math--Pre-Algebra! Of course, I only requested the book for 7th Grade Math, so we now have to get the right one. But I guess this is not unusual, and the teacher has a few extra copies for when this happens. Apparently, most of the 7th grade girls are in this class, and the teacher is supposed to be better, so she's happy--if a bit befuddled as to how she got placed in the advanced version of her "worst" subject!

Students can collect coupons to go out of uniform, and Phoebe already has at least three. When she has eight, she can have an out of uniform day. Since she collects tickets for pleasure reading, I expect she will have a lot of casual dress days! She often reads on the bus ride to school since she is on the bus for an hour.

She had her first French quiz last week and scored a 109, I believe. She's taking advantage of extra credit opportunities in all her classes, and every point helps! She has had to adjust to a new homework load--she has brought home work everyday, even Friday--but we had been giving her extra homework for a couple of years now, so that helped a lot. She now appreciates that we did that!

Happy Fall!
