Happy Thanksgiving!

I have been a complete slacker in keeping up on Phoebe's activities--sorry! I think it is because she has been so busy; I can't keep up!

Anyway, to recap what's been going on:

For Halloween, she went again as Hermione, but this time with a slight difference. In the second book of the series, Hermione has a bit of a potion mishap and partially turns into a cat. So that is what Phoebe replicated! Her BFF Mercedes did the same thing, of course! Next year, she says she wants to go as Hermione in her Yule Ball outfit from book #4, but that might prove difficult as I can only find adult versions of the dress online!

Phoebe as Hermione as a Cat
We have been doing themed lunches again, if rather sporadically. This year we are working from Vegan Lunch Box Around the World, but Phoebe hasn't ventured beyond the United States section yet. We started with New York, which gave us bagels and cream cheese, then Tex-Mex which called for bean burritos. Last week we went north to Kansas for veggie burgers. I don't make burgers very often, but I decided to give the recipe a shot. They came out pretty good.

Phoebe has continued to tear through books. She had a pile I needed to put in here, but I donated them to a Hurricane Sandy drive without noting the titles! However, I think I remembered them. Her tastes continue to run the genre gambit. She finished The Unusual Suspects (Sisters Grimm #2) and read the final Familiars book, Circle of Heroes, without me, so I will have to read it on my own to find out how it ends! She tore through Mysteries According to Humphrey, which was part of her Halloween candy trade-in prize, in less than 24 hours--clearly we need to say good-bye to our favorite classroom hamster. However, she has said she wants to read the next book, Winter According to Humphrey, anyway. Also read recently were Cat in the Crypt, an Animal Ark mystery, Into the Blue, the first book in a series about dolphins, Homeless, from the Vet Volunteers series, and one other book I can't remember, so I will have to see if Phoebe does!

We are still working through The Mysterious Benedict Society together--about two-thirds done at this point. I think that catches up everything!
