Phoebe started back to school yesterday and was very happy to do so--she was actually disappointed that Monday was a holiday!
She loved sculpture camp at the Arts Center and asked to go there for February vacation as well, when the theme will be Art Around the World. I will try to get some good pics of her artwork to post.
She did get some reading done over her vacation as well. She finished Cat Magic and Nancy Drew: Danger on the Great Lakes. Right now, she is reading A Cat Called Penguin, which was a holiday gift from Wales and is by Holly Webb, the same author as Cat Magic. She just loved the title. Last night she did come in with a question--she saw a word that looked like "favorite" but had a "u"--time to introduce British spelling! She has seen it before, but maybe not in a book she read by herself.
Together we are still reading Harry's latest, but we've been doing a chapter a night, so that is a pretty good pace!
For lunch this week we have "Eat Your Oatmeal" Waffles with maple syrup. Phoebe wasn't sure about cold waffles, but came home yesterday with a definite yes. Monday I did a run of waffle making--lemon poppy seed and chocolate (both recipes from The Urban Vegan and tweaked to be gluten-free) and the oatmeal ones from Vegan Lunchbox. So we had a little waffle buffet for supper! I took some pictures of the finished product, and will upload them for your viewing pleasure!
