The title of this post pretty much sums up Nighty-Nightmare, the fourth book in the Bunnicula series. However, our favorite vampire bunny was not on the scene as Chester, Harold, and Howie faced off against a redneck dog named, well, Dog, and his owners, Bud and Spud. Of course, Phoebe missed the joke, but she enjoyed the story anyway--although it seemed a bit more strained than the earlier books.
Then she quickly read Catwings Return, by Ursula LeGuin, which is the sequel to Catwings. The series--there are four books--is about a litter of kittens born with wings. They are way below Phoebe's reading level, but I like LeGuin, and the message is nice.
We are about halfway through The Battle of the Labyrinth!
Yesterday, Phoebe's class honored Vegetarian Day, which was Saturday, by having a vegan lunch of pasta, "chickies" (vegan chicken strips), and roasted veggies. The chickies were a big hit! Phoebe also did a presentation about what it's like to be vegan, complete with a tri-fold display--she really got into it. She's been thinking about doing a presentation for her whole school later in the year about her lunch adventures. This week, we have vegan fish sticks and tater tots. Again, her friend Mercedes was eyeing the "fish" with longing, so today I sent in an extra one for her. Phoebe said she would be happy--I will get the verdict this afternoon! I have a picture of the fish sticks on my phone, so I will post that separately. Unfortunately, they don't look like much, but Phoebe said they were good!
